Canada Cup 2014 Ultra Street Fighter 4 Grand Finals: One of the Best

Canada Cup

How often do you see a Korean man take off his shirt and play Street Fighter in front of a room full of screaming spectators?

You never see a Street Fighter tournament end with El Fuerte vs Seth, but what stole the show were the two players behind the fight stick. Pepeday, an upcoming fan favorite player made his way to grand finals with his frantic character El Fuerte. Poongko, a Seth player known for his dominate online reputation was knocked into the losers bracket by Pepedey, only to return to challenge him in grand finals.

It was insane. The crowd went wild, the commentators had a hard time keeping up with the frantic action, and the 22,000 watching on the Twitch stream spammed Gootecks emoticons.

Even before the match started, the pop offs and hypeness began, as Poongko removed his shirt and threw it into the crowd.

“Angry” Poongko stole the spotlight early on with his amazing Seth play and ended up resetting the brackets and forced Pepeday against the wall. Pepeday managed to rally back with the crowd still on his side, and at the end of the day, he won the tournament.

You can watch the great set in the video below, and it perfectly depicts why people play and watch competitive fighting games.
